Resolved Question: Whats up with the Military conducting urban exercises in downtown LA?

I got this from a on line news site, and I live in LA and have seen this going on for the last few days. "Military helicopters that have been startling Los Angeles residents with night-time flights downtown are just part of an ongoing exercise to familiarize troops with urban operations in preparation for deployment overseas. Local TV, radio and other news outlets had received calls from several residents reporting helicopters darting between skyscrapers and carrying armed troops over City Hall. Some speculated that the maneuvers were part of a movie shoot, but a notice on the LAPD blog revealed that police would be assisting the military in a group of urban exercises that will end Saturday. In addition to the downtown flights, other activities are planned around town, so police said residents should not be alarmed if they happen across military units in uniform or carrying weapons." I hope that they don't trying to get us to accept armed military units walking the streets as the norm, has anyone in another major city seen this happen in their metro area???Brittney you sound like someone who would have fitted right in Nazi Germany, the kind of person who never questions authority part of a mindless heard lead to slaughter. And you more than likely live in some back water town because if you knew anything about the rest of america you'd know there isn't any airforce base near downtown LA. Why is the military training in such a huge city??? what are they planning to invade Russia?? China???? no other country that we're at odds with has such a huge city in the likes of LA or New York so why do they need all this training??? could it be that the state is running out of money like the rest of the country and their anticipating roits or the need to impose martial law on our own citizens. Some people just don't ever learn from history and that why we're all doomed to repeat it. more

Resolved Question: Does the US State department realize that the 13th amendment does not address the current needs of Sri Lanka?

That it really did not address needs back in 1987. There is no reason that Sri Lanka needs to be pushed. directed or coerced into a format that neither addressed ethnic questions then or now. http://www.srilankaguardian.org/2009/06/post-terrorism-analysis-of.html There was a Muslim speaker, S.M.M.Bazeer at the Oxford Union who has stated very eloquently how western demographics forced segmentation on peoples based on linguistics and created fractures in certain populations while forcing instead allowing natural cohesion in others. Though the West always refers to Sri Lanka as being a tri-parte ethnic composition, there is nothing further from the truth. Those who think that there are only two languages spoken on island are sorely mistaken. I do not know who sits at your Sri Lanka Desk at the State Department but the levels of misinformation and/or disinformation needs to be checked. It is impossible for the US to gain or give a fair assessment with incorrect data. The IC has asked for a peace process and that is exactly what is happening in Sri Lanka. It has only been one month since cessation of hostilities and there will be continued mop up operations on island for a duration - the crucial part of which is that further war-like equipment is arrested from entering the island and all terrorists and combatants are detained and rehabilitated. Since there was a surrender of several hundred more just a few days ago it is logically probable that more will be revealed. CHECK DRAFTS RAJA/GOTHY http://www.colombopage.com/archive_091/Jun1245818072CH.html There are still clearing and disarmament operations ongoing in the North and the East http://www.colombopage.com/archive_091/Jun1245770161CH.html It is nothing short of preposterous that the US would ask a government for unfettered (NGO)civilian access into such areas or to resettle IDPs until there is a higher level of security available such as the remittance of all firearms in the East, further clearing of mines, obstructions and weapons caches in the North, East as well as other areas in the South, the disabling of criminal gangs that had LTTE affiliations in both the East and the West. "Air craft missiles, grenade launchers, white prosperous bombs, and an assortment of various types of bombs including mortar bombs and Arul bombs were among the items recovered by the troops of Task Force 8 during a search operation launched in the Wellamullawaikkal and other areas in the former no-fire zone yesterday." "Stockpiles of arms hidden or abandoned in the areas occupied by the LTTE in the North remain a major impediment to the early resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons. The IDPs cannot be resettled until the areas are completely demined and cleared off the weapons." Above and beyond that there is major reconfiguring of political parties, new alliances and also several parties considering disbanding. http://english.cctv.com/20090624/100975.shtml ""The government has asked all groups to surrender weapons," A. L. M Hisbullah, a provincial government official told the media." I am certain the same procedure will take place in the North after the effective completion of such in the East. Here is another interesting fact about these NGO's and their aide and abedment of terrorist activity. http://www.island.lk/2009/06/24/news17.html more

Resolved Question: Why won't the CIA leave Iran alone?

Visiting Iran last year to cover parliamentary elections, a journalist discovered a country utterly at odds with most of its depictions. He found himself discussing the sociologist Durkheim with a classical record producer in a cinema-cafe and debating the political situation in Iraq's Shia holy cities with a conservative mosque guard in southern Tehran. He sat with artists drinking bootleg vodka at a party and discussed the limits of personal freedom over the Islamic dress code with a liberal but headscarf-wearing teacher. Even the attitudes among supporters of President Ahmadinejad, whom he encountered in the countryside, were complex, confounding what he thought he knew. Iran, you see, makes a mockery of how the west would like to frame its reality. Which makes reading many of the views expressed in the west during Iran's election crisis often baffling - I have struggled to recognise the place depicted. It is worrying, because if I have learnt a single thing from the last 15 years covering international crises, it is how simplified or distorted depictions of events are more easily established as given truths than challenged. And how dangerously, as Iraq made clear, those false images feed into the decision-making processes of western governments. In the case of Iran, what has been visible in the west has been two competing versions of the country, coloured by political imagination and appropriated by the two rival - and confrontational - camps that have dominated our debate on foreign affairs since 11 September and the invasion of Iraq. Parties to a new cold war of ideas, their narrow and mutually antagonistic positions have reinterpreted each emerging international crisis to suit their own agenda and in defiance of the other's. Iran has long been on the radar screen of U.S. Intelligence agencies after the Iranian Revolution toppled the former Shah of Iran who was useful to the U.S. Former Pakistani Army General Mirza Aslam Beig claims the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has distributed 400 million dollars inside Iran to evoke a revolution. The ongoing turmoil throughout Iran is a result of deliberate destabilization efforts conducted by the US Central Intelligence Agency. Operating under an operation code named "Restore a Shah" the CIA has been quietly funneling tens of millions of dollars to activists throughout Iran in order to intentionally foment the tumultuous protests being seen in that country since their recent national election. The goal of the CIA: Topple the Iranian government and install another government which will be more secular and friendly to the U.S. more

This child has had his damaged stomach removed from his body, because of a lawnmover accident, in which the child was run over. I don't understand how this child can receive and process food without a stomach. He is in the hospital for ongoing operations and care. Resolved Question: What is Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden, are they for real, do they actually exist in real life?

Recently, I was browsing the internet and found very interesting article. During the 1980s, when Russian troops occupied Afghanistan, the USA's Central Intelligence Agency was sending arms and war material to the Afghani Mujahideen. The CIA also provided military training and logistical support to the Afghani Mujahideen. US arms dealers, CIA agents, and covert US military Special Operations troops were deeply involved in assisting the Afghan resistance to Russian occupation. The Stinger shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles which the USA gave to the Mujahideen enabled the Mujahideen to turn the tide of battle and to eventually defeat and expel the Russian Army from Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a major opium-growing center, and during the Russian/Afghan conflict, heroin trafficking out of Afghanistan became a major enterprise for the CIA, which used its own fleet of difficult-to- trace aircraft to ship the drug into Europe. When I was in New Delhi in 1980, I met young Afghans who were eager to sell heroin and AK-47 automatic assault rifles to almost anyone, including random tourists. War material from the USA for the Afghani Mujahideen was channeled through Pakistan, and during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan the US government and the Pakistani government formed a deep alliance. The arms, training, and logistical support that the USA provided to the Afghan Mujahideen was also channeled to Terrorists who are trained and supported by the Pakistani government and military to infiltrate into Indian Kashmir in an ongoing effort to destabilize the Indian control of Kashmir. After the Russians left Afghanistan, the Pakistani-based Taleban, which had always received its primary support from the Pakistani government, seized power in Afghanistan and formed the ruling government there until the US invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001. The Pakistani government and military abandoned their open support for the Taleban when the USA bribed Pakistan with many billions of dollars in US military and economic aid just prior to the US invasion of Afghanistan. Al Qaeda, which in Arabic means 'the Base', was originally the name that the CIA station chiefs in Saudi Arabia gave to the database that they created to keep track of the individuals and groups to which the US government was providing funds for the Afghani Mujahideen during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. During the Russian occupation of Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden was an organizer for the Afghani Mujahideen. Bin Laden worked to help funnel US arms and supplies to the Mujahideen, and bin Laden helped bring Saudi and other foreign fighters to Afghanistan to assist the Mujahideen. In these roles, Osama bin Laden was constantly in close communication with the CIA, and bin Laden was functioning as an agent, asset, ally, or employee of the CIA. Osama bin Laden later assisted the USA's divide-and-conquer agenda in the Balkans by recruiting Saudis and other foreign fighters for the Kosovo Liberation Army during the 1990s. The Balkans are an entry-point for heroin trafficking into Europe, and the CIA, assisted by the Al Qeada volunteers recruited by Osama bin Laden, engaged in heroin, arms, and human trafficking there. Ex-US President George H. Bush and his son, the current US President George Walker Bush, have been close friends with the bin Laden family of Saudi Arabia since the 1980s. The bin Laden family business involves major construction projects throughout the Middle East, and the US government and US corporations have been frequent customers of the bin Ladens. On the day after the 9/11/2001 attacks on the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Washington D.C., President George W. Bush authorized the departure of members of the bin Laden family for flights back to Saudi Arabia without any of the bin Ladens being subject to any questioning by the US intelligence agents or law enforcement. Osama bin Laden has never claimed responsibility for the 9/11 attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon, and officials at the USA's Federal Bureau of Investigation have stated that they do not list Osama bin Laden as a suspect in the 9/11 attacks because they "do not have sufficient evidence that Osama bin Laden was involved in the 9/11 attacks." Since 9/11, several videos and audiotapes have been posted on the Internet that purport to show Osama bin Laden, but all of them have been proven to be forgeries. President George W. Bush has publicly stated, "I don't care about Osama bin Laden" and Bush has also publicly dismissed any need to find or capture Osama bin Laden. Al Qaeda is nothing more than a bogey man, an invented ghost to frighten children and the ignorant. Al Qaeda is the invisible and nonexistent enemy that the US government has manufactured to provide an excuse for its never-ending 'War on Terrorism', which is in reality a war of US aggression for US domination of the world and its resources. The US g...The US government commits 'false flag' attacks such as the 9/11 attacks; the Bali, Madrid, and London bombings; and the recent bombings and attacks in India as a way to create a false threat where no real threat exists, providing an excuse for the USA to step in to 'rescue' and 'protect' other nations from 'Terrorist' attacks that were actually perpetrated by the USA itself.Jared to which category of people you belong, chldren or ignorant?Mitch3ll , thank you for your very informative answer,Meow, I do not believe everything I read. Resolved Question: What do you think of Andrew McCarthys Letter to Eric Holder?

Andrew C. McCarthy May 1, 2009 By email (to the Counterterrorism Division) and by regular mail: The Honorable Eric H. Holder, Jr. Attorney General of the United States United States Department of Justice 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, D.C. 20530-0001 Dear Attorney General Holder: This letter is respectfully submitted to inform you that I must decline the invitation to participate in the May 4 roundtable meeting the President’s Task Force on Detention Policy is convening with current and former prosecutors involved in international terrorism cases. An invitation was extended to me by trial lawyers from the Counterterrorism Section, who are members of the Task Force, which you are leading. The invitation email (of April 14) indicates that the meeting is part of an ongoing effort to identify lawful policies on the detention and disposition of alien enemy combatants—or what the Department now calls “individuals captured or apprehended in connection with armed conflicts and counterterrorism operations.” I admire the lawyers of the Counterterrorism Division, and I do not question their good faith. Nevertheless, it is quite clear—most recently, from your provocative remarks on Wednesday in Germany—that the Obama administration has already settled on a policy of releasing trained jihadists (including releasing some of them into the United States). Whatever the good intentions of the organizers, the meeting will obviously be used by the administration to claim that its policy was arrived at in consultation with current and former government officials experienced in terrorism cases and national security issues. I deeply disagree with this policy, which I believe is a violation of federal law and a betrayal of the president’s first obligation to protect the American people. Under the circumstances, I think the better course is to register my dissent, rather than be used as a prop. Moreover, in light of public statements by both you and the President, it is dismayingly clear that, under your leadership, the Justice Department takes the position that a lawyer who in good faith offers legal advice to government policy makers—like the government lawyers who offered good faith advice on interrogation policy—may be subject to investigation and prosecution for the content of that advice, in addition to empty but professionally damaging accusations of ethical misconduct. Given that stance, any prudent lawyer would have to hesitate before offering advice to the government. Beyond that, as elucidated in my writing (including my proposal for a new national security court, which I understand the Task Force has perused), I believe alien enemy combatants should be detained at Guantanamo Bay (or a facility like it) until the conclusion of hostilities. This national defense measure is deeply rooted in the venerable laws of war and was reaffirmed by the Supreme Court in the 2004 Hamdi case. Yet, as recently as Wednesday, you asserted that, in your considered judgment, such notions violate America’s “commitment to the rule of law.” Indeed, you elaborated, “Nothing symbolizes our [adminstration’s] new course more than our decision to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay…. President Obama believes, and I strongly agree, that Guantanamo has come to represent a time and an approach that we want to put behind us: a disregard for our centuries-long respect for the rule of law[.]” (Emphasis added.) Given your policy of conducting ruinous criminal and ethics investigations of lawyers over the advice they offer the government, and your specific position that the wartime detention I would endorse is tantamount to a violation of law, it makes little sense for me to attend the Task Force meeting. After all, my choice would be to remain silent or risk jeopardizing myself. For what it may be worth, I will say this much. For eight years, we have had a robust debate in the United States about how to handle alien terrorists captured during a defensive war authorized by Congress after nearly 3000 of our fellow Americans were annihilated. Essentially, there have been two camps. One calls for prosecution in the civilian criminal justice system, the strategy used throughout the 1990s. The other calls for a military justice approach of combatant detention and war-crimes prosecutions by military commission. Because each theory has its downsides, many commentators, myself included, have proposed a third way: a hybrid system, designed for the realities of modern international terrorism—a new system that would address the needs to protect our classified defense secrets and to assure Americans, as well as our allies, that we are detaining the right people. There are differences in these various proposals. But their proponents, and adherents to both the military and civilian justice approaches, ha more

(By email to the Counterterrorism Division and by regular mail) The Honorable Eric H. But their proponents, and adherents to both the military and civilian justice approaches, have all agreed on at least one thing: Foreign terrorists trained to execute mass-murder attacks cannot simply be released while the war ensues and Am more

Resolved Question: So what do you think of this letter to Eric Holder, Attorney General of the US?

By email (to the Counterterrorism Division) and by regular mail: The Honorable Eric H. Resolved Question: What will creationsists be arguing when this research program is finished?

In an American Scientist article ("The Origin Of Life", James Trefil, Harold Morowitz, Eric Smith, Vol 97, No 2, March-April, 2009), http://www.americanscientist.org/issues/id.6378,y.2009,no.2,content.true,page.1,css.print/issue.aspx they outline an ongoing research program that places the origin of life "squarely in the realm of accessible, plausible chemistry", where "the early stages in the emergence of life are no more surprising, no more accidental, than water flowing downhill" They say that "the early steps on the way to life are an inevitable, incremental result of the operation of the laws of chemistry and physics operating under the conditions that existed on the early Earth" So, if the research continues over the next few years to make strides as it has done, and the details get filled in, there will be a complete picture of how the origin of life is not only likely, but under fairly ordinary conditions, inevitable. So the question is, once that's had the remaining details filled in, so that abiogenesis is no longer in the "we don't really know yet" category, what will the creationists be arguing about then?Alternative article link: http://www.americanscientist.org/issues/feature/2009/2/the-origin-of-life/1Alternative article link: http://www.americanscientist.org/issues/feature/2009/2/the-origin-of-life/1 more

Resolved Question: Why aren't the wounded from the Afghanistan war reported?

Twice a week my daily newspapers publishes the casualties from our ongoing war(s). The Iraq figures are broken down into three groups. Total deaths which covers ALL causes in Iraq. KIA's in Iraq which is a few hundred smaller than the total but is for combat deaths. Wounded in Iraq which is nearly 10 times the total deaths. Then for the Afghanistan theater of operations they list deaths only. No breakdown of KIA's out of total nor any figures on wounded. Why doesn't the media report the number of American wounded in Afghanistan? more

Resolved Question: Should American citizens worry who else is entering the country illegally?

Should we not be worried about terrorist working with drug cartels and entering thru mexico and latin america? Does this change your mind about who we are letting slip in here? Friday, March 27, 2009 EXCLUSIVE: Hezbollah uses Mexican drug routes into U.S. Sara A. Carter (Contact) EXCLUSIVE: Hezbollah is using the same southern narcotics routes that Mexican drug kingpins do to smuggle drugs and people into the United States, reaping money to finance its operations and threatening U.S. national security, current and former U.S. law enforcement, defense and counterterrorism officials say. The Iran-backed Lebanese group has long been involved in narcotics and human trafficking in South America's tri-border region of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. Increasingly, however, it is relying on Mexican narcotics syndicates that control access to transit routes into the U.S. Hezbollah relies on "the same criminal weapons smugglers, document traffickers and transportation experts as the drug cartels," said Michael Braun, who just retired as assistant administrator and chief of operations at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). "They work together," said Mr. Braun. "They rely on the same shadow facilitators. One way or another, they are all connected. "They'll leverage those relationships to their benefit, to smuggle contraband and humans into the U.S.; in fact, they already are [smuggling]." His comments were confirmed by six U.S. officials, including law enforcement, defense and counterterrorism specialists. They spoke on the condition that they not be named because of the sensitivity of the topic. While Hezbollah appears to view the U.S. primarily as a source of cash - and there have been no confirmed Hezbollah attacks within the U.S. - the group's growing ties with Mexican drug cartels are particularly worrisome at a time when a war against and among Mexican narco-traffickers has killed 7,000 people in the past year and is destabilizing Mexico along the U.S. border. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was in Mexico on Thursday to discuss U.S. aid. Other U.S. Cabinet officials and President Obama are slated to visit in the coming weeks. Hezbollah is based in Lebanon. Since its inception after the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, it has grown into a major political, military and social welfare organization serving Lebanon's large Shi'ite Muslim community. In 2006, it fought a 34-day war against Israel, which remains its primary adversary. To finance its operations, it relies in part on funding from a large Lebanese Shi'ite Muslim diaspora that stretches from the Middle East to Africa and Latin America. Some of the funding comes from criminal enterprises. Although there have been no confirmed cases of Hezbollah moving terrorists across the Mexico border to carry out attacks in the United States, Hezbollah members and supporters have entered the country this way. Last year, Salim Boughader Mucharrafille was sentenced to 60 years in prison by Mexican authorities on charges of organized crime and immigrant smuggling. Mucharrafille, a Mexican of Lebanese descent, owned a cafe in the city of Tijuana, across the border from San Diego. He was arrested in 2002 for smuggling 200 people, said to include Hezbollah supporters, into the U.S. In 2001, Mahmoud Youssef Kourani crossed the border from Mexico in a car and traveled to Dearborn, Mich. Kourani was later charged with and convicted of providing "material support and resources ... to Hezbollah," according to a 2003 indictment. A U.S. official with knowledge of U.S. law enforcement operations in Latin America said, "we noted the same trends as Mr. Braun" and that Hezbollah has used Mexican transit routes to smuggle contraband and people into the U.S. Two U.S. law enforcement officers, familiar with counterterrorism operations in the U.S. and Latin America, said that "it was no surprise" that Hezbollah members have entered the U.S. border through drug cartel transit routes. "The Mexican cartels have no loyalty to anyone," one of the officials told The Washington Times. "They will willingly or unknowingly aid other nefarious groups into the U.S. through the routes they control. It has already happened. That's why the border is such a serious national security issue." One U.S. counterterrorism official said that while "there's reason to believe that [Hezbollah members] have looked at the southern border to enter the U.S. ... to date their success has been extremely limited." However, another U.S. counterterrorism official confirmed that the U.S. is watching closely the links between Hezbollah and drug cartels and said it is "not a good picture." A senior U.S. defense official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of ongoing operations in Latin America, warned that al Qaeda also could use trafficking routes to infiltrate operatives into the U.S. "If I have the mon more

Resolved Question: Why are advocates for illegals outraged over CONCORD, NC - Ten foreign-born gang members and associates with?

Why are advocates for illegals outraged over CONCORD, NC - Ten foreign-born gang members and associates with MS-13 as another example of racial profilng supporters are calling on Obama to stop all raids as they are ripping familes apart CONCORD, NC - Ten foreign-born gang members and associates with ties to local violent street gangs were arrested here yesterday following a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) led operation. The operation, dubbed Community Shield, was a multi-agency effort spearheaded by ICE. Among the participating agencies were the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office, Concord Police Department, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and the North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety's Alcohol Law (NC-ALE) The operation targeted foreign-born members and associates of MS-13 and Brown Pride street gangs. Of those arrested, nine are nationals of Mexico and one from El Salvador. All of them were found to be illegally present in the United States and are now in ICE custody; however, two of them, although administratively arrested, were remanded to State custody due to criminal offenses that include narcotics violations and obstruction of justice. ICE will begin removal proceedings on all of them. "Public safety is a significant part of ICE's role in protecting the homeland, but it is also a shared law enforcement mission," said Delbert Richburg, assistant special agent in charge of ICE's Office of Investigations in Charlotte. "ICE works closely with other federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to keep our communities safe, which in this case is the removal of criminal gang members and others who threaten the safety of Brockton neighborhoods." Transnational gangs pose a growing public safety threat to communities throughout the country. It is estimated that there are more 900 different gangs in the United States. These gangs no longer own turf in just the inner city but have spread their criminal networks throughout suburban and rural communities. These transnational street gangs have a significant number of foreign-born members and are frequently involved in human and contraband smuggling, immigration violations and other crimes. Like any street gang, these transnational gangs also have a propensity toward violence. Their members commit a myriad crimes including robbery, extortion, assault, rape and murder. Operation Community Shield is an ongoing national initiative in which ICE partners with other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to address the significant public safety threat posed by transnational street gangs. Partnerships with local law enforcement agencies are essential to the success of the initiative, and they help further ensure officer safety during the operations. Since ICE began Operation Community Shield in February 2005, more than 12,200 gang members belonging to more than 700 hardworkers have been arrested nationwide and cannot support their familes Rep. Resolved Question: What type of calculation can I use for a reasonability test on foreign exchange?

The corporation I work for is an international operation and as a result we have monthly foreign exchange gains and losses. I've been tasked with developing a method to determine of the exchange we have booked is reasonable for that division given the rate for the month. We have 8 currencies that we deal with, and our exchange gain or loss is always based on the prior month's average rate. Ideally they want to see a bottom line indicator of the reasonability. This is where my issue comes from. I'm having problems figuring out a way to take the change in receivable and payables and the net exposure to exchange into account. This will be an ongoing project, updated monthly and also provided to our board of directors and auditors on a regular basis. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. more

Resolved Question: It would seem this Obama proof requirement is growing - What do you think?

Major General Says President's Eligibility Needs Proof 'Most Important, What I Really Want is the Truth' ________________________________________ Posted: February 26, 2009 11:40 pm Eastern By Bob Unruh © 2009 WorldNetDaily Retired Maj. Gen. Carroll Childers On the heels of two active duty members of the U.S. military serving in Iraq calling for President Obama to prove his eligibility to be president, a retired major general has agreed to join the case, saying he just wants "the truth." WND reported earlier when 1st Lt. Scott Easterling confirmed to California attorney Orly Taitz that he wanted to be a plaintiff in the legal action she is preparing on behalf of members of the U.S. military, both active and retired. A second soldier who asked that his name be withheld for now became part of the action just a day later. Now retired Maj. Gen. Carroll D. Childers has submitted a statement to Taitz and her DefendOurFreedoms.us website, agreeing to be a plaintiff in her pending action. "I agree to be a plaintiff in the legal action to be filed by Orly Taitz, Esq. in a petition for a declaratory judgement (sic) that Barack Hussein Obama is not qualified to be president of the U.S., nor to be commander in chief of the U.S. armed forces, in that I am or was a sworn member of the U.S. military (subject to recall)," he wrote. If recalled, he would be "unable to follow any orders given by a constitutionally unqualified commander in chief, since by doing so I would be subject to charges of aiding and abetting fraud and committing acts of treason," he wrote. In an accompanying letter, Childers said, "What I really want is the truth; is Obama a natural born citizen of the United States. If not a natural born citizen, America has been defrauded and then we would be stuck with Joe Biden whose only redeeming attribute is that he is probably not a communist." He said he is an engineer after serving for 38 years in Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Operation Desert Storm and other locations. Childers said there were a long list of reasons he didn't support Obama for president, including "his crime associates in the USA … his promise to make coal power industry bankrupt … his spread the wealth admission … his associations with foreign leaders unfriendly to the USA … (and his lack of) integrity." But he said he believes Obama is not eligible to be president, a claim Obama spokesmen have described to WND as "garbage." WND has reported on multiple legal challenges to Obama's status as a "natural born citizen." The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President." Some of the lawsuits question whether he was actually born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama's American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time. Other challenges have focused on Obama's citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born. Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, join more than 290,000 others and sign up now! Several of the cases have involved emergency appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court in which justices have declined to hear arguments. Among the cases turned down without a hearing at the high court have been petitions by Philip Berg, Cort Wrotnowski, Leo Donofrio and Taitz. Military.com reported Easterling's concerns following WND's report and confirmed that Army officials said they were aware of the lieutenant's letter. The officials, Military.com said, are trying to balance the "military requirements under the Uniform Code of Military Justice versus critical freedoms that all Americans enjoy." Commenters on the website called the soldier "a delusional racist," "moronic and irrelevent (sic)," and undeserving of his uniform. However, some defended him. "The questions about the POTUS and his birth were questions raised during the campaign – quite often in this website. This question was not always answered in a fashion which was clear cut yea or nay," said one forum contributor. "There are lawsuits ongoing – therefore there are other doubters." Said another, "If anybody does their research they find out that a full investigation was conducted regarding McCain's eligibility (born on a military base on foreign soil), but no such investigation was done for BO. BO admits to traveling to Pakistan in 1981, when it was illegal to do so for US citizens at the time, how did he pull that off? "Open your eyes, lemmmings ( more

Resolved Question: about Obama's advisers ....?

Ok, i know this is a little long but i wanted to highlight a few of Obama's advisers who i found to be rather surprising picks ... I want to preface this by saying that i am not a Republican nor Democrat ... John Brennan and Jami Miscik, both former intelligence officials under George Tenet, are leading Barack Obama’s review of intelligence agencies and helping make recommendations to the new administration. Brennan has supported warrantless wiretapping and extraordinary rendition, and Miscik was involved with the politicized intelligence alleging weapons of mass destruction in the lead-up to the war on Iraq. She helped with the drafting of the speech that Colin Powell gave to the United Nations— 2003, which made the phony case for war to the international community. Obama’s top adviser is Zbigniew Brzezinski. Brzezinski gave an interview to the French press a number of years ago where he boasted about the fact that it was he who created the whole Afghan jihadi movement, the movement that produced Osama bin Laden. And he was asked by the interviewer, “Well, don’t you think this might have had some bad consequences?” And Brzezinski replied, “Absolutely not. It was definitely worth it, because we were going after the Soviets. We were getting the Soviets.” Another key Obama adviser, Anthony Lake, he was the main force behind the US invasion of Haiti in the mid-Clinton years during which they brought back Aristide essentially in political chains, pledged to support a World Bank/IMF overhaul of the economy, which resulted in an increase in malnutrition deaths among Haitians and set the stage for the current ongoing political disaster in Haiti. Another key Obama adviser, Dennis Ross. Ross, for many years under both Clinton and Bush 2, a key—he has advised Clinton and both Bushes. He oversaw US policy toward Israel/Palestine. He pushed the principle that the legal rights of the Palestinians, the rights recognized under international law, must be subordinated to the needs of the Israeli government—in other words, their desires, their desires to expand to do whatever they want in the Occupied Territories. And Ross was one of the people who, interestingly, led the political assault on former Democratic President Jimmy Carter. Another Obama adviser, Sarah Sewall, who heads a human rights center at Harvard and is a former Defense official, she wrote the introduction to General Petraeus’s Marine Corps/Army counterinsurgency handbook, the handbook that is now being used worldwide by US troops in various killing operations. That’s the Obama team. He condemned Palestinian rocket attacks on southern Israeli towns, but didn’t criticize the US-backed Israeli bombings of densely populated Gaza. In Pakistan, outrage continues to mount over a US military attack approved by President Obama, killing as many as twenty-two people, including at least three children. and here is vice president Joe Biden dodging a related question: BOB SCHIEFFER: It’s my understanding that the President, the previous president, gave our US forces and the CIA permission to go across that border, to go after al-Qaeda if it became necessary on the ground. Does President Obama—will he continue that policy? VICE PRESIDENT JOSEPH BIDEN: Bob, as you know, I can’t speak to any particular attack. I can’t speak to any particular action. It’s not appropriate for me to do that. Ok ... the question is ... first off did you know about this before you voted? then, are you happy about this (or general thoughts on the matter)? and finally, would you have voted differently if you had known and why or why not? and the big question: is peaceful revolution possible within our current electoral system? more

Resolved Question: Unasked media questions for the President.?

With a government-imposed deadline for its restructuring plan just a day away, UAW Legislative Director Alan Reuther said Monday he does not expect labor agreements in time for today's deadline. Reuther, who heads the UAW's Washington office, said he had not been updated on the talks since sunday night but he doesn't expect agreements before today. He said the Obama admin's appointment sunday night of a task force to oversee the automakers' restructuring should get things moving. He also said "I think this is an ongoing process, and having the Obama admin finally putting this task force in operation, hopefully it will be able to facilitate discussions going forward." Mr. President, my question is a three part question. First, will there be any penalties for the deadline being missed? second, why should there be a creation of a task force to oversee this moving forward, when clearly this was part of the original deal? They asked for billions of dollars in loans, they were aware of the conditions of the loan, and now they are in need of a task force to move things forward? Will this lead into yet another default on repaying of loans? Third, should we as government, not loan billions of dollars, without first seeing their business plan? Isn't this how banks work in loaning businesses money? more

Resolved Question: should WWE change Raw to Monday Night MAG?

JBL is an American audio electronics company currently owned by Harman International. It was founded in 1946 by James Bullough Lansing. Their primary products are loudspeakers and associated electronics. There are two independent divisions within the company — JBL Consumer and JBL Professional. The former produces audio equipment for the home market while the latter produces professional equipment for the studio, installed sound, tour sound, portable sound (production and DJ), and cinema markets. [edit] History James B. Lansing founded JBL the year after leaving Altec Lansing as their Vice President of Engineering in 1945. The company was first called Lansing Sound, Incorporated, and dated from 1 October 1946 and then changed its name to James B. Lansing Sound. The first products model D101 15-inch loudspeaker and D175 The high frequency driver. The D175 remained in the JBL catalog through the 1970s. Both of these were near copies of Altec Lansing products. First original product was the D130, a 15-inch transducer for which a variant would remain in production for the next 55 years. The D130 featured a 4-inch flat ribbon wire voice coil and Alnico V magnet. Two other products were the 12-inch D131 and 8-inch D208 cone drivers. The Marquardt Corporation gave the company early manufacturing space and a modest investment. William H. Thomas, the treasurer of Marquardt Corporation, represented Marquardt on Lansing's Board of Directors. In 1948 Marquardt took over operation of the JBL. In 1949 Marquardt was purchased by General Tire Company. The new company was not interested in the loudspeaker business and severed ties with Mr. Lansing. The company was reincorporated as James B. Lansing, Incorporated, and moved to its first private location on 2439 Fletcher Drive, Los Angeles. A key to JBL's early development was Mr. Lansing's close business relationship with its primary supplier of Alnico V magnetic material, Robert Arnold of Arnold Engineering. Arnold Engineering extended favorable terms and deep credit to Mr. Lansing. Robert Arnold saw JBL as an opportunity to sell Alnico V magnetic material into a new market. James Lansing was noted as an innovative engineer, but a poor businessman. For the next 3 years Mr. Lansing struggled to pay invoices and ship product. As a result of deteriorating business conditions and personal issues, he took his own life on September 4, 1949. The company then passed into the hands of Bill Thomas, JBL's then vice-president. Mr. Lansing had taken out a $10,000 life insurance policy naming the company as the beneficiary. That allowed Mr. Thomas to continue the company after Mr. Lansing's death. Soon after, Mr. Thomas purchased Mrs. Lansing's one-third interest in the company and became the sole owner of the company. Mr. Thomas was responsible for revitalizing the company and spearheading a remarkable period of growth for the two decades following the founding of JBL[1]. Early products included the model 375 high frequency driver and the 075 UHF (Ultra High Frequency) ring radiator driver. The ring radiator drivers are also known as "JBL bullets" because of their distinctive shape. The 375 was a re-invention of the Western Electric 594 driver but with a Alnico V magnet and a 4-inch voice coil. The 375 shared the same basic magnet structure as the D-130 woofer. JBL engineers Ed May and Bart Locanthi created these designs.[2] Two products from that era, the Hartsfield and the Paragon, continue to be highly desired on the collectors market. In 1955 the brand name JBL was introduced to resolve ongoing disputes with Altec Lansing Corporation. The company name "James B. Lansing Sound, Incorporated" was retained, but the logo name was changed to JBL with the distinctive exclamation point logo.[3] The JBL 4320 series studio monitor was introduced through Capitol Records in Hollywood and became the standard monitor worldwide for its parent company, EMI. JBL's introduction to rock and roll music came via the adoption of the D130 loudspeaker by Leo Fender's Fender Guitar company as the ideal driver for electric guitars. In 1969, Bill Thomas sold JBL to the Jervis Corporation (later renamed Harman International) headed by Dr. Sidney Harman. The 1970s saw JBL become a household brand, starting with the famous L-100, which was the best-selling loudspeaker model of any company to that date. The 1970s also saw a major JBL expansion in the professional audio field from their studio monitors. By the end of the decade recording studios in the United States used more JBL monitors than all other brands combined. The JBL L-100 and 4310 control monitors were noteworthy, popular home speakers. In the 1980's the L-100, 4312 and others were updated with aquaplas-laminated midrange and woofer drivers, and a titanium-deposited tweeter diaphragm, the new designations being the L-80T, L-100T, L-120T and the flagship L-250ti. In the 1980's the L-100, 4312 and others were updated with aquaplas-laminated midrange and woofer drivers, and a titanium-deposited tweeter diaphragm, the new designations being the L-80T, L-100T, L-120T and the flagship L-250ti. Resolved Question: MAG vs Jesus Christ who would win?

Resolved Question: Obama Supporters, is this the change you imagined?

It’s not appropriate for me to do that.i guess the question is ... first off did you know about this before you voted? then, are you happy about this (or general thoughts on the matter)? and finally, would you rather have someone else as president after knowing this? and the big question: is peaceful revolution possible within our current electoral system?Ok ... it seems like people here are assuming that i am a Republican just because i am asking about how genuine the "change" is that Obama brings ... let me assure you .... that is NOT the case and in response to oklatonola and all the others that want to bring up Bush 2 ... with all due respect i was asking a question about the current presidents advisers and his stance on Palestine and his recent actions in Pakistan ... so i don't see what bush has to do with that ... Bush 2 didn't pick his advisers, didn't whisper in his ear on what to say about Palestine, nor did he give the order to murder children in Pakistan ... Obama did .. right? and while i may not be in my 50's or have multiple degrees or be well versed in liberal capitalist literary consumer products ... i have a few degrees of my own, B.A. History and Political Science (double major) and my masters is in Military Science and Diplomacy ... so ... if you would like to give it a try and answer i would appreciate it.Ok ... it seems like people here are assuming that i am a Republican just because i am asking about how genuine the "change" is that Obama brings ... let me assure you .... that is NOT the case and in response to oklatonola and all the others that want to bring up Bush 2 ... with all due respect i was asking a question about the current presidents advisers and his stance on Palestine and his recent actions in Pakistan ... so i don't see what bush has to do with that ... Resolved Question: I'm scared to go to the police about my husband stealing my pain MD'S(his father is a Miami ex-detective)HELP!?

I asked the following question before. I got excellent answers, however, many stated I should go to college to find better people. Just to let you know I went to college, I have a graduate degree in Accounting & I still owe $55,000 worth of student loans. I would like to change careers but I'm struggling VERY HARD with my disabilities from my car accident that happened in 2004. I have had 9 operations since & I just came home from the hospital today for the 10th time since. I went because I suffer extremely painful spasms that radiate from my brain stem to the left side of my head. I have Occupital & Trigenimal Neuralgia among other things. If I don't stop the pain the inflamation affects my motor functions & if left untreated I will have permanent brain damage. The car accident was not my fault. The person who caused this 3 car pile up on I-95 (where I was the middle car that landed on the car in front of me and then my car fell backwards) was obligated to pay me via their insurance paid their policy limit which was $100,000 within months of the accident. This just barely covered my hospital bill. My Lexus was totaled. I'm in serious debt from this accident & had to take a huge cut in pay because I physically can't handle what I used to before the accident. My employer said I'm not the same person because of all the mistakes I make (which I never did before the accident). My employer is right (acknowledged by all my doctors), thus, I also have been told by all my doctors to go on disability. I'm working on getting partial disability mainly for protection against discrimination for my current medical condition. I'm allowed to work while partial disability, The limited income threshold from receiving partial disability will help supplement from what I'm making now. As far as religious groups. I have tried but it's hard to be around people when you don't want to feel like a burden because of my ongoing medical problems. Also, the only sibling I had died in the auto accident & my parents can't handle anymore stress so sharing this problem with them would be too overwhelming for them. I know this because I have hinted enough to see what their reaction would be. Finally, I'm 37 with a 15 yr old daughter who's staying with my parents for the first time in her life while I stay close to Nova University to be a guinea pig to receive any treatment available since their a "teaching hospital" in medicine who works closely with John Hopkins. Anyways, with that said, here is my question that I posted several weeks ago. Sorry for the lengthiness. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm scared to go to the police about my husband stealing my pain meds(his father is a Miami ex-detective)HELP!? I asked this question before but apparently did not provide enough information. I do not want to snitch on my husband. I have tried to hide the medication but he gets extremely angry (but does not hit me). However, I have been a victim of domestic violence before (where my ex-husband tried to kill my family & stabbed me with a knife) so I don't know if I'm extra fearful about confronting him and/or putting my foot down; I was in counseling (as well as my family) for that for 5 years before I met my new husband who is well aware of my past. I have tried to talk to his family who not only is in denial or "tired of dealing with the problem" as they put it as long as he acts "productive" to them that's all they care about. Plus, he's a "momma's boy" so it's like he can do no wrong. The only time that I know (I suspect there were more now) that he was "busted" by them for abusing pain medication he said the pain medication was mine. However, this pain medication was something he bought online & took a much hire dose in a short period of time & when he ran out of those he vomited so much (as well as experiencing other symptoms) for 4 days before being forced to go to the hospital via ambulance (in front of his parents) & when he got there he was so dehydrated (he couldn't hold even Gatorade) that when his toxicology screen came back for opiates he was "clean." He was honest to the drs at the hospital about his opium use & that's why they suggested he see a GI doctor because his intestinal tract was in such bad shape due to ulcers from the pain med. However, since he also had food poisoning (as well as I but did not suffer because as much because I had a better GI tract) and was given antibiotics his originally suspicious parents believed that it was just food poisoning & that this non-prescribed stash was mine, which has now ruined my relationship with my in-laws even though I told them to blood test me anytime & even offer me a lie detector test. I only take my pain medication when I have spasm from MS, and now occipital & trigenimal neuralgia that I was diagnosed with after a severe 2004 auto accident for which I have had already 9 operations. I never have dealt with someone with substance abuse but due to more

Voting Question: can somebody give me a good thesis statement for this?

The U.N. Security Council late Thursday overwhelmingly approved a resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza. A photo provided by the Israel Defense Forces shows Israeli paratroopers in Gaza on Thursday. 1 of 3 more photos » Fourteen of the council's 15 members voted in favor of the resolution, with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice abstaining from the vote on behalf of the United States. The resolution expresses "grave concern" about the growing humanitarian crisis and heavy civilian casualties in Gaza, as well as civilian deaths in Israel from Hamas rocket fire. Roughly 765 Palestinians and 13 Israelis, including 10 soldiers, have been killed since Israel began its military assault on Gaza on December 27. The resolution "stresses the urgency of, and calls for, an immediate, durable, and fully respected cease-fire which will lead to the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza." A resolution from the council, particularly one that passes with such large support, can put international pressure on parties involved in a conflict. But they are in no way binding, and many in the past have been ignored by warring factions. "We are all very conscious that peace is made on the ground while resolutions are written in the U.N.," said British Foreign Secretary David Miliband. "Our job here is to support the efforts for peace on the ground and turn the good words on paper into changes on the ground that are so desperately needed." Rice applauded the resolution's goals, but said the United States prefers to wait for results of ongoing, Egyptian-brokered talks in Cairo, Egypt, with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. Watch U.N. secretary-general say he is heartened and relieved after vote » She said the United States supported the text, goals and objectives of the resolution, but that the United States feels it's important to see the terms of any cease-fire hammered out in Egypt. Don't Miss Israeli strike killed at least 1 aid worker, U.N. says Zakaria: Israel should end campaign quickly Lebanese leader condemns rocket attacks In Depth: Gaza conflict The resolution welcomes efforts by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to broker a cease-fire. It calls for opening corridors to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza -- where food, water, electricity and medicine shortages have worsened already poor conditions since Israel's offensive in Gaza began. Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Gabriela Shalev, told the Security Council that Hamas rocket attacks "left us with no choice." "The responsibility for the current hostilities lies squarely on Hamas," she said. "The international community must focus its efforts on the Hamas activity and make sure that the terrorist activity can never be legitimate." Watch Shalev say the responsibility lies on Hamas » The Israeli military says its operation is aimed at halting the firing of rockets into southern Israel by Hamas, which has controlled Gaza since 2007. Wrangling over the resolution centered on wording. Arab countries generally pushed for language demanding Israel cease its attacks, while Western diplomats wanted more neutral language. "Security for the people of Gaza, too. Not security for Israel alone," Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, of Egypt, said before the vote as reporters were asking diplomats about the resolution. The 15-member Security Council is tasked by the United Nations with establishing and maintaining peace around the globe. It has the power to create peacekeeping operations, impose sanctions and authorize military action. The United States, Russia, China, France and Great Britain are the five permanent members, with the other 10 elected by the U.N. assembly to two-year terms. Any one of the permanent members can veto a resolution. more

Resolved Question: Is this Gaza war planned 5 years ago by Israelis, a Canadian Institute said so.?

"Operation Cast Lead", Part of a Broader Israeli Military-Intelligence Agenda " The aerial bombings and the ongoing ground invasion of Gaza by Israeli ground forces must be analysed in a historical context. Operation "Cast Lead" is a carefully planned undertaking, which is part of a broader military-intelligence agenda first formulated by the government of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in 2001: "Sources in the defense establishment said Defense Minister Ehud Barak instructed the Israel Defense Forces to prepare for the operation over six months ago, even as Israel was beginning to negotiate a ceasefire agreement with Hamas."(Barak Ravid, Operation "Cast Lead": Israeli Air Force strike followed months of planning, Haaretz, December 27, 2008) " This article is quite worth reading. it shows the real map of Gaza----dotted with Israelis settlement. more

Resolved Question: Need help on a ongoing weight issue...?

I'm fourteen and i have never had a girlfriend... This is mainly because for the majority of my life i was extremely overweight. When I was thirteen years of age on the dot and I was 5 foot 5 I weighed fourteen stone now I am nearly fifteen and I weigh eleven and a half stone and i'm 5 foot 10. I weigh the same as my friend who looks perfectly normal and skinny and everything. But I still dont look skinny apart from a bit in the face. Its getting me down because I don't look anything like slim or slender I still look fat. Im so much less fat then what I used to be but I want to be normal. I lost my weight from healthy eating and I'd had a class A operation on both my feet which was the main reason of weight gain. Because I was in wheelchair for 6 weeks and I was already quite unfit. Im looking the best I have since I was seven or so but that isnt saying much. Will my body start to look normal after a while because I lost it so quick and it needs time to drop off? Or can you reccomend any exercises to do to get my stomach in shape or my pecs(moobs basically). I don't mind having a bit of a belly I just want it to be a lot flatter. Please i would appreciate any help! x more

Resolved Question: Does the news blackout of Israel murdering Palestinians show who controls our country?

Amnesty International and other human rights organizations have decried Israel's continued aerial bombing campaign as unlawful and denounced the killing of more than 300 Palestinians since 27 December, including scores of unarmed civilians not taking part in the hostilities. Israel's attacks on the densely populated Gaza Strip also elicited condemnation from numerous world politicians and sparked protests in global cities. Despite international outcry over escalating violence, the U.S. mainstream media continues to privilege a prepackaged narrative in which Israel's actions are never disproportionate, never counterproductive and certainly never gratuitous. According to the mainstream media, the U.S. must continue uncompromisingly supporting Israel because the allegedly beleaguered democracy is held hostage by monomaniacal Islamofascists who are inherently evil. Promoting a paradigm in which Israel is always David up against Goliath, the U.S. media presents suffering Palestinians as expendable for the greater cause of Israel winning its epic struggle. To justify U.S.'s carte blanche to Israel, the mainstream media restricts American readers to an echo chamber in which the following claims are repeated ad nausem until they are mistaken for fact: 1. Israel has a legal and moral right to bomb Gaza out of defense Security concerns are not and never have been a tolerable justification for pre-emptive attacks. Israel's decision to bomb Gaza represents a major assault on the international rule of law. The law of occupation is one of the oldest and most developed branches of international humanitarian law. An occupying power is obliged to follow the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention, which protects the civilian population. The United Nations Security Council held in 1979 that the Fourth Convention did apply in the territories seized by Israel in 1967. Article 48 of the additional protocol is clear that Israel, as an occupying power, has obligations: "The Parties to the conflict shall at all times distinguish between the civilian population and combatants and between civilian objects and military objectives and accordingly shall direct their operations only against military objective." The latest Israeli attacks come on top of a brutal siege of the Gaza Strip which has created a humanitarian catastrophe of dire proportions for Gaza's beleaguered Palestinian residents by restricting the provision of food, fuel, medicine, electricity, and other necessities of life. "International law is not observed with respect to Israeli policies towards the Gaza Strip, Israel continues to reinforce an occupation whose every element violates international humanitarian law, and particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention," notes Jeff Halper, an Israeli-American Anthropologist, author, lecturer, political activist, and co-founder and Coordinator of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions. 2. Israeli citizens live in constant fear of Hamas rockets Since 2005 Hamas has fired some 6,300 rockets from Gaza at Israel, killing 10 people.[1] In just the last four days, Israel has reduced the Gaza Strip to rubble and killed over 300 Palestinians. During the ongoing four-decade-long brutal occupation of historic Palestine and the recent grotesquely inhumane blockade of Gaza, Palestinian deaths have far outnumbered Israeli deaths. Since September 29, 2000, approximately 123 Israeli children have been killed by Palestinians whereas 1,050 Palestinian children have been killed by Israelis. Since September 29, 2000, a total of 1,062 Israelis and no fewer than 4,876 Palestinians were killed in the conflict.[2] 3. Hamas refuses to recognize the right of Israel to exist and has never made any concessions As Seth Ackerman of Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) notes, there is no need to euphemize Hamas' history of brutal tactics or its bellicose ideology, but Hamas has signaled its potential willingness to accept a two-state settlement and make other concessions to broker peace.[3] Hamas has also made tentative offers of a long-term "hudna," or truce, albeit with less gusto than Israel demands. 4. Israel is only targeting Hamas headquarters Gaza, one of the most densely populated tracts of land in the world, is home to about 1.3m Palestinians, about 33% of whom live in United Nations-funded refugee camps.[4] Avoiding civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip during aerial raids is comparable to trying to avoid such casualties in Washington DC, New York City or Los Angeles. "Because Gaza is so densely populated, there is no such thing as precision strike - you have glass, brick, shrapnel flying into people's homes," notes Ewa Jasiewicz, a volunteer with the Free Gaza Movement.[5] 5. Attacking Hamas will help Israel achieve security There is no doubt that the recent attacks will only embolden and multiply Israel's detractors. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a religious decree to Muslims around the world o more

Resolved Question: Is it illegal to tip someone off regarding a suspected ongoing police investigation?

What are the relevant laws? Let's say Person A has a marijuana grow operation in a state forest. Person B is not associated with the grow op, but he knows Person A. He finds out that the police and state troopers are aware of the grow op, and are staking it out to see who comes to harvest it. Person B then tips off Person A. Person A abandons the grow op, and never returns. The police eventually destroy the crop without making any arrests. Does Person B have any legal liability here? more

Resolved Question: Cancer; here's a "question" that sounds like a plea...maybe it is.?

If you pray, and to whoever your God is; please do so today....would you please pray for my young friend, John Romine who is battling mightily the same cancer his buddy, Eric Metz has. I found out last night that he is now in ICU at Riley Children's hospital in Indianapolis. His Mom sent a simple message out through his Caring Bridge webpage that said: If you can make it down to see John tonight, Please do so..... John Romine was the young man who, because of Eric Metz, inspired me to get tested as a potential bone marrow donor. John needed a match desperately and Eric and his Mother, Lisa, worked their kahunas off to find him one. Finally, a match was found for John, but he couldn't receive it until he had yet another round of chemotherapy, an operation on his lungs to remove scar tissue that was affecting his breathing, and the doctors could bring his health up to an acceptable level to receive the transplant..... It has been a battle ROYALE for John and anyone who met him or followed his progress, simply adopted him as their own......including me. I do not know if John made it last night......I keep checking the boards to see what I hope is good news! Hope is eternal; with cancer, sometimes hope is all you have to live on. So please pray not only for John and his wonderful family, but for Eric Metz and his family also. I am sure Eric is a mess due to his own ongoing battle. John became his "mentor" of sorts at Riley when Eric was diagnosed. They love each other very deeply. Here is a link to both of their pages so that you can keep up also if you choose: Thank you, Dayle http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ericmetz http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/johnromine more

Resolved Question: Am I losing my mind or what?

I have been having an ongoing problem for the past five years: I constantly keep running into people and neighbors who either take advantage of me or try to take me through the ringer if I no longer want to talk to him or her. I can put down some examples: A neighbor of mine was going to trial for innappropriate touching a child; so she called CPS on me when i refused to let her babysit my new born child(I was not neglecting him, I fed and clothed him appropriately and had suitable babysitter for him already) then she turned all my neighbors against me thinking I was a bad mother-I was ran out of the trailer park! I had a roommate with an income; he refused to pay towards half the rent after we both signed the lease-then he called the police on me saying I put my hands on him-because I would not give him $90! I was lucky no charges were pressed. Me and my fiancee let a homeless man his son knew stay over for a few wks-he refused to contribute(he WAS employed) and came to our door one night. He started yelling at ME saying I have a problem with him-I refused to accept the rent money he finally came up with and told him to pack up and leave. The next day he showed up and refused to leave-I called 911. Then a month later, he showed up and said my fiancee owed him the $20 I refused to accept! By the way, I never spoke to him the whole times he was staying with us-I stayed inside most of the time, and he was at work-no way we could have spoken. My fiancee's son was homeless and we let him stay with us. we bought him things he needed and let him stay rent free until he found a job. Turned out he was lying about having a job when he got one-turned out he was not the director of operations like he claimed; but just a volunteer at the humane society! then all that time he stayed with us; he spread rumors about me. My fiancee threw him out. Another time; I had a babysitter (references incl with her)-she ended up stealing from me and had her boyfriend come over when she was supposed to be babysitting. I told her i didnt need her services anymore and not to come back. Okay; examples aside, i am struggling an uphill backsliding battle trying to figure out how to stop being taken advantage of. Just saying "no" doesnt work: The person I say no to retaliates in return with anything from intimidation to trumped up charges. I want to know WHY I keep drawing these ppl to me, I want to know how to recognize it before it happens, I want to know what makes me a target in the first place, I want to know how to NOT be a target, I want to know if it may have anything to do with my upbringing, i want to know what I am doing that may attract this kind of attention, I want to know if maybe I should just move from where I live(past 5 yrs). I really need your help. I have been losing friends over this because they are simply sick of me telling them about this drama(but I need to get it off my chest and get answers). My own mother has become disgusted with me because I cannot seem to learn from these experiences. Please keep in mind that these few examples are very real and my pain is very real; Please answer this question only if you are sincere. Thank you more

Voting Question: 33% Company Stock: Real Significance?

Hi there! I have been offered a job in a growing company beginning a start-up operation in a new country. I have been offered a basic starting salary and the option to enter a partnership with them after a year. After two years I would be transferred 11% of their stock, after three years, 22%, and after four years, 33%. There are currently two owners. I would be an "equal" partner with them after four years. I understand that stock values rise if the company is doing well, meaning that you can then sell them for a good price and profit. But does it mean anything for me in terms of cash in hand BEFORE I sell them? Question one: is it a guarantee that a company will pay out dividends (cash in hand, right?) and use only SOME money to re-invest, or is that something very important to ask? Is there any other way, if dividends are not paid out and I do not sell, that owning stock gets me cash in hand? Question two. When the offer says that stock will be "transferred" to me, does that mean as a gift? Or am I "paying" for it by accepting an ongoing basic salary without a rise? Or do I pay in real cash, and the term is misleading? Question three: is there anything else I should know re: advantages and disadvantages of being a company owner like this? Many thanks! more
